Hester Maclean, Matron-in-Chief of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service (NZANS) escorted the first 50 members of the NZANS to leave New Zealand (NZ) on 8 April 1915. This roll shows that the initial Regimental Numbers issued were replaced shortly before departure. This change may have been due to the inclusion of three nurses who went to Samoa in 1914. It appears these nurses may have been given senority because of their Samoan service.

The Nominal Roll dated1915 lists the first 50 nurses with the original number issued. Their personal files show a change was made but does not date the change.

Included in this Roll is the New Zealand Registered Nurse (RNZN) number issued on becoming a Registered Nurse, and where known their married name, Date of Birth (DOB) and date died.
